Half-Day Wilderness Hiking Tour (3-4 hrs.)
Let one of Whistler Alpine’s well-versed guides show you the best hiking in the region. Their half-day interpretive hike will take you through terrain ranging from cakewalk to challenging, and allow you to take in the sights that put Whistler on the outdoor-adventure map; mountains, lakes and glaciers are all on the menu. Not an experienced hiker? No problem, Whistler Alpine Guides will provide you with the equipment you need for a hike that will get the blood pumping, but won’t be overwhelming. No previous experience necessary. This tour departs daily at 8:30am or 1:30pm from May to October. This hike lasts three-four hours. Adult, youth and family packages available.

Beyond the Lifts Skiing/Snowboarding Day Tour
Escape the hustle and bustle of the chairlift lineups with this full-day back-country snowboarding or skiing excursion. A certified guide will take you to nearby Garibaldi Park, where you can hit some pristine powder while cruising through gladed runs, dropping into bowls or carving down a glacier. See what hitting the slopes minus the lifts is all about, and be prepared for a day of great exercise and even better skiing and boarding. Skiiers, snowboarders and telemarkers welcome. Expect to ski or board three to five runs and up to 5,000 vertical feet, depending on your fitness level. While no back-country experience is required, it is recommended you be confident boarding or skiing on intermediate terrain (ie blue runs). You will need to have powder touring gear, such as splitboards, skins and ski touring bindings. These can be rented for an additional cost.

Via Ferrata Climb of Whistler Peak (4 hrs.)
Navigate one of the first Via Ferratas in Canada and conquer Whistler Peak’s summit in this trip that combines glacier hiking and mountain climbing. Via Ferrata (“Iron Way” in Italian) climbing uses cables and metal ladder rungs that are permanently attached to the mountainside, providing support for your ascent. Your climb starts with tackling Whistler glacier; your skilled guide will tell you everything you need to know about using crampons and an ice axe to make your way to the beginning of the Via Ferrata route. Once you reach the Via Ferrata, you’ll clip into a cable and make your way up the rock face, taking in stunning views of the surrounding area. When you reach the top of Whistler Peak, you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable perspective and the thrill of having scaled a mountain. This tour is suitable for guests of all abilities, but be aware it will be a challenging climb. Departures are daily at 10:30am and 12:30pm from June to October. This trip lasts about four hours.

Outdoor Rock-Climbing Tour (3.5 hrs.)
There’s nothing quite like scaling a rock face using your bare hands, and enjoying scenic views while you’re doing it. Get a grip on outdoor rock-climbing in Whistler Alpine Guide’s specially designed climbing crag. Climbers will enjoy this half day of top-roped rock climbing that allows you to try out a range of different routes and rappels. Suitable for both first-timers and more experienced climbers. No previous climbing experience necessary. Individual, youth and family packages available. This tour departs daily at 8:30am and 1:30pm from May to October and lasts about 3.5 hours.

Earn Your Turns Skiing/Snowboarding Day Tour
It’s the best of both worlds: experience back-country skiing conditions on the way down and chairlifts on the way up. This tour is a great introduction to back-country snowboarding and skiing; your certified and experienced guide will teach you all about avalanche awareness, ski area boundaries and how to best navigate the powder you’ll be hitting all day. Just be aware: it may leave you wanting to take on some of Whistler Alpine Guide Bureau’s other back-country adventures. Skiiers, snowboarders and telemarkers welcome. Put your climbing skills to use as you make your way along a mountainside. “Scrambling” is a hiking technique where you use hand and foot holds to navigate a ridge, and the new scrambling route on Whistler Mountain offers a new challenge and twist on reaching the peak. Reward your effort with simply stunning vistas of Whistler and beyond. This tour is suitable for guests of all abilities aged 10 and up. Departures are daily at 10:30am and 1:30pm from June to October. This trip lasts about three hours.

Your experienced guide will also teach you about this glacier’s history, which reaches back 10,000 years. After you ascend the glacier, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Whistler area before making your way back down again. No experience is necessary, but keep in mind this tour involves a 45-minute uphill walk. Suitable for most hikers aged 12 and up. Individual, youth and family packages available. Your excursion begins with a gondola ride up Whistler Mountain, where you can catch some stunning views of the terrain below. Then you’ll set out to explore Garibaldi Park, journeying outside of the ski-area boundary and past picturesque Cheakamus Lake, through colourful alpine meadows and within view of the iconic Black Tusk mountain. If you listen closely, you might hear the whistle of the marmot, the sound which gave Whistler its name. This full-day guided hike is one that many of the area’s outdoor enthusiasts say is a must-do.
