After meeting up with your party at Whistler’s Gone Bakery first thing in the morning, you’ll head over to Powder Mountain’s headquarters, where you’ll be briefed on what’s in store while relaxing in front of their warm fireplace. Then it’s time to climb into the helicopter and experience pristine powder skiing or riding. Your guide will be on the lookout for the best runs the area has to offer. This tour departs at 8am and returns at approximately 4:30pm and runs from December 1 to April 4, depending on snow conditions. Heli-skiing or snowboarding is suitable for all experience levels, but it’s best if you have some skiing or snowboarding experience under your belt. Riders with similar experience levels will be grouped together. Powder Mountain’s A-Star helicopter can accommodate up to four guests, a pilot and a certified guide. A three-run package is usually between 4,500 and 7,500 vertical feet of skiing or boarding.

Day of Catboarding or Skiing

Powder Mountain Catskiing can take you out for a full day of powder-laden slopes in one of their customized Pisten Bully 300 snowcats. Your day starts when you meet up with your catskiing crew at Gone Bakery, then head to Powder Mountain’s base lodge, where can relax by the fire while getting a quick safety briefing. Then you climb into the snowcat and head for the hills for a day of backcountry skiing or snowboarding. Your two trained guides will ensure your group gets the most out of the day, and a photographer will ride with you to capture every thrilling moment of your runs. Fuel up on a gourmet lunch as you ride in the heated snowcat cabin in between runs. After it’s all said and done, Powder Mountain will drop you off in downtown Whistler, where you can relive your exploits with your newfound catskiing friends or crew of old buddies you took up the hill over a pint of beer. This tour departs at 8am and returns at approximately 4:30pm and runs from mid-December to mid-April, depending on snow conditions. An average day is no less than 7,000 vertical feet of skiing, which is between six and 10 runs. Extra runs are free of charge. Snowcats are treaded vehicles used for grooming runs on ski hills.
