As you might guess, the focus of this leisurely paddle is maritime birds. A kayak’s stealthy nature makes it an ideal way to enter their habitat without being disruptive, maximizing your observation opportunity! Your kayak guide and an experienced local birder will help you become familiar with identifying and understanding local bird species and offer you the opportunity to surround yourself with the impressive rugged terrain they call home.
- You may spot other wildlife, including seals, bald eagles, black oyster catchers, blue heron and an amazing amount of inter-tidal life.
- This tour starts in the Oak Bay area, either at the Oak Bay Marina parking lot, or Ten Mile Point.
- Ready to fuel back up post-tour? Try the great fare found at the launch site café.
