Often, anglers will limit out on halibut and then head for salmon territory. Due to the extended charter time, you’ll travel up to 25 miles offshore, granting you access to some of the most spectacular fishing for both salmon and halibut. If you’ve never caught a wave before, Relic Surf Shop offers a three-hour group lesson that will show you the basics. After heading out to one of the many prime surf spots located less than 15 minutes from Ucluelet, your instructor will let you know the dos and don’ts of surfing, from etiquette to safety to how to get up on your board. Relic prides itself on having quality teachers whose love and understanding of surfing is immediately apparent. If you find you want to keep hitting the waves after your lesson, keep your surfing gear for the rest of the day to apply your newfound skills. All of Relic’s instructors are trained in ocean safety and carry a minimum of Bronze Cross/Medallion CPR training.
