In just moments you’re off to the Johnstone Strait region to view magnificent Killer Whales in the most impressive of natural environments. These gorgeous, remarkable mammals pass through Discovery Passage feeding, socializing, playing and raising their young offering you the moment you’ve been anticipating; you spot that notable fin, and witness a full breach. You may even site a ‘super clan’ of over 100 Killer Whales- made up of several smaller whale clans. It’s a tour that’s exhilarating, amazing and captivating all at once. This is what whale watching is all about. This tour is offered through Oak Bay Marine Group’s April Point Resort and Spa at Quadra Island. April Point Resort also offers a variety of accommodations. This whale watching tour primarily focuses on the Johnstone Strait area, but makes stops at whale watching hot spots including Kelsey Bay, Sayward, and Robson Bight. This tour operates from July 1st – September 16th. During certain times of the year, the tour will head into Nodales Channel, where black bears roam the beaches.
